![]() Indeed, it has some spots / modes that are very close to what I want. ![]() (It can also go far beyond traditional delay with the other modes.) The UI looks much more immediate and quick than the new Meris delay (which looks phenomenal and flexible, but very menu divey), but YMMV. This demo of the more conventional delay modes in microcosm (pattern and warp) feels in the territory of the video you linked. It’s probably evident that I don’t have a very specific set of features in mind, rather I’d like to just try out something that could be potentially fun to play with based on recommendations and online demos.įor a rough idea of what I most often noodle with and would use something like this for - for the past months I’ve been listening to and getting inspired of “sequence minimalism” type stuff a bit like this person does here (the video does include some of the pedals I’ve listed, but I’m sure he could use others and still sound like himself): Completely undecided: Zoia, Beebo (always intrigued of these and have some blocks that would work really well for the purpose, but maybe too deep programming / patching for me this time…?).Reluctant of considering: do-it-all multi-mode delays like Timeline, Timefactor, Echosystem, Nemesis, DD-200 / DD-500 (a bit too much choice, most of the modes usually aren’t for me, and difficult to pick one that actually works for me).Have considered so far: Meris Polymoon & Eventide Ultratap (complex multitap delays with extra niceties like diffusion), Cosmos + Microcosm + Blooper (more into granular and looping territory, but with interesting delay-like modes, I’m just wondering if these are more for playing the knobs like an instrument than using as an effect with some controls and footswitches…).Have used in a similar setup: Strymon Volante (subjectively superb sounding and kind of ticks all the boxes, but maybe something less tweaky and more modern sounding this time?). ![]() I’d like to add something delay-like to sometimes fill some additional space with interesting “denser” delayed sound, and as often / even more often, something to play rhythmic patterns against. My current setup is an instrument → compressor → looper → reverb. Something that begs to be played to rather than played with - I’d like to keep my hands mostly on the main instrument I’m playing, and only occasionally on the knobs. Question: what would you people recommend as sort of “complex” delay - or alternatively, a granular / micro-looping type effect that goes into delay territory? In pedal form, preferably but not necessarily stereo.
